O h, blogging pictures every day, I am going to miss you. :-) I did have one other portrait session this week, but it is super top secret... so it will not be on the blog, at least not for a few months. SO... this may be the last post for maybe even a week, but it is definitely the last post of my marathon posting pictures every day. SOOO... eat it up! ;-) Meet Maureen & Rob. They're engaged to be married this August, and they wanted their engagement portraits done on her family's property on Upper Saranac Lake (and why wouldn't she?!). They have two wild, but fun dogs, that they wanted included in a few of their pics... people must know that I am a dog person because I often get asked to throw in a few pictures with the dog. True story, though: the first time I let someone do that, their dog bit me... hard. Like I am bleeding and crying in front of the children and the photo shoot is over... kind of hard. Yep, had to get a tetanus shot for that one. Anyway, it didn't scar me (well, at least not internally- definitely have the marks to prove it happened, though), so we threw in a few of the pups. I think you will like. Happy viewing, friends!
My new favorite thing... achieving a perfectly white background without using a perfectly white background (thank you strong backlight and the lake!). I love how simple and clean it makes the image and how all I can see in this is Maureen & Rob's joy. |

and the flare! Man, I love it!! And, I really love this image. may be my favorite of the day.

another white background, courtesy of the light off the lake... another favorite!

wow, check out those beautiful blue eyes! (not photoshopped, people)

Okay, so I take shots like this all the time for my clients, but I never put them on the blog because they kinda look the same. But, I thought I would share this once. What a peaceful spot.

Aaaannnddd... welcome the pups!

So, I also take the boring posed shots all the time for my clients, too, but this one is extra special. notice the pups?

Another sweet moment I love!

And to close this post, a last shot on the couple's favorite bench. So sweet! Thanks so much, Maureen & Rob! Can't wait for the big day!

Claire Anna at Four Months |

T en days ago, Claire hit her four month mark, and I cannot believe it has been that long! It feels like forever and just a day at the same time. She's grown like crazy, even though strangers still tell me she is tiny. She is in the 90th percentile for her age for her height (but only in the 30th for her weight)... so, she is long and lean and super healthy. The doctor actually told me that she is really strong, too (she kicks NON-STOP!), so she thinks that our little girl might be crawling in the next two months!! eek! I tell you what, I have come a long way. I used to be the girl that was nervous or bored around babies that didn't move around, and now, I love that our little girl pretty much stays in the same place I left her (although she is managing to wiggle all over her crib these days). Anyway, Chris and I fall more and more in love with our daughter every day. Our beautiful little Claire Anna. :-) So... I share with you her monthly portraits for her 4th month of life (don't worry, this will only continue for a year- then you will just get those random fun moment pics). Happy viewing!
**Oh, I have to point out that Chris and I have always laughed at that scene in the Office where the woman brings her baby boy to work dressed in pink, and Pam says "oh, what a beautiful baby girl you have there." The woman snarls back at Pam and says... "it's a boy!! his favorite color is pink." Well... we don't really dress Claire in boys clothes and she is a little young to have a favorite color, BUT... she looks really good in blue. haha! I mean, I may sound crazy, but I don't think pink really looks good on her. It just isn't her color. (I totally sound crazy) But, BLUE... now THAT color looks awesome on her. It is perfect with her complexion and really makes her dark blue eyes pop. Anyway, so this shoot is all blue (courtesy of my grandma), but girly blue. But, anyway... haha!
I absolutely love my daughter's profile, but she always looks at me when I take her pictures (curious of what the heck I am doing). So, we went outside because she loves being outside. So, in this one, she is watching the clouds move above. Sweet lips! |

Okay, I really love all of these, so I will try to cut back the comments. Tight shot. Love it.

I actually got perfect detail of her eyes with the natural light. LOVE it!

She makes this face A LOT! (she's practicing saying "mama"- so far she's got "mmmm") But, I love this shot also because it shows how crazy long her eyelashes are! thank God she got Chris' eyelashes and not mine.

Drooling and Bubbling. ;-)

She's thinking real hard, can't you tell?

I HAD to post this pic. Claire is ALWAYS popping out her paci, so we had to get a really good clip for it. Well, I found this on Etsy, and while it wasn't cheap, i absolutely LOVE it. I mean, it has polka dots, ribbon, blue & pink, AND a monogram. Perfect! I wish Chris would let me buy about three more to match other outfits (I actually picked this out before my grandma bought this outfit for Claire- how crazy is that?)

Thanks for stopping by! Tomorrow's post will be Maureen & Rob's engagement portraits on Upper Saranac Lake!

F our out of six weeks, just about, were spent either in the car, on a plane, in PA or in the Carolinas. Claire, Chris and I have been literally traveling fools. No, I am not kidding; we were fools to travel so much with an infant. ;-) But, we are home and settled, and Claire is (almost) back on a schedule. So, we are all feeling a little back to normal, especially after a day off together today (the first for Chris in over 2 weeks). But, we did have a wonderful time, and there were some major moments and meetings that happened for Claire during our travels (which started back around Easter). So, I thought I would share a little.
Claire met her great grandma ("g.g.") |

Claire got her first piano lesson from one of her grandmas

Claire decided she liked tummy time!! AND... she laughed for the first time!

Claire met her future husband... or maybe just a prom date? Okay, well, at least, a play date! Mr. Dillon Worsley himself.

Claire met her Uncle Dan (who has been out to sea since I was just halfway thru the pregnancy)... and I should add that Uncle Dan changed his first diaper!

Claire also met her Aunt Katy... her krazy fun Aunt Katy who almost stole her. ;-)

But, perhaps, the most picture worthy (no offense to anyone else)... Claire met some of her great great aunts and one great great SUPER uncle. :-D My mom is an only child, so I grew up feeling like these great aunts and my great uncles were my immediate aunts and uncles.

Parting shot of Claire with her favorite great great Uncle Vernon (we can say that b/c that is the only one she's met so far)

Alrighty... so... tomorrow... the long awaited 4 month pictures of Claire!

Meredith & Bryan's Wedding, pt 2 |

A lright, so here we go. Last post for Meredith & Bryan's wedding (if you want more, become a fan of Rae Barnes Photography on Facebook, and you can see 55 images in their album)... Meredith and Bryan were married at Homewood in Asheville, NC on May 16. Their wedding was absolutely flawless pulled together by the team at Weddings with Tara. Even though there was an 80% chance of rain that day, it managed to hold off until the second we were done with the posed formals outside. It could not have been more perfect! It then cleared up a little for the cocktail hour, hence for some portraits outside with the bride and groom. Anyway, I could go on and on about how lovely and perfect everything was, but I will just let the images do the talking now. :-) Happy viewing! |

this was pretty much unscripted. how cute are they?!

i think this might be my favorite of the day... of just the two of them.

this might be one of my favorite reception shots of all time. just love it!

So, Meredith and I went to college together at Converse College in Spartanburg, SC. She graduated a few years after me. And, well, we Converse women have this lovely tradition of singing to the bride at the reception. So, I love this shot for many many reasons!

The room was lovely, even late into the night. :-)

Meredith & Bryan's Wedding, pt 1 |

W here do I begin?! As I stated in my last post, Meredith & Bryan are such an amazing couple to work for! They are madly in love and dang good-looking!! ;-) As I started looking through all of the images, I realized that this wedding is going to need 2, maybe 3 posts, just for the day of. I just have too many favorites! Anyway, I have family in town, so I will fill you in more tomorrow when I post more pics from the wedding. So, in the meantime, happy viewing!
Over the years, I have grown a little tired of the dress shot... I do think it is important to get it for the sake of the album, but they start looking the same. When I found this dress hanging just like this, I KNEW I would love it! |

Not your typical shoe shot, either.

Bryan & his dad, getting his tie on.

The long walk down to the ceremony... I love the look on Meredith's face!

During the prayer... Love it!

So... the next three are meant to be in a series. Chris and I always say that what a couple does at the end of the walk down the aisle is a good indicator of just how excited they are to be married. I would say they are pretty pumped.

Meredith's parents. LOVE this sweet image!

FAVORITE family image! You can also see Bryan hugging his mom.

It started raining the second we were done with the family formals! Perfect!

Okay, much more tomorrow! (If you are on Facebook and a fan of Rae Barnes Photography, we will have a total of my fave 60 images on my fan page in a few days).
