    Sneak Peek

    I
absolutely cannot wait to share the bridal portraits that I took recently, but since her wedding has not yet happened, we are holding onto the full blog post to leave her dress and all her gorgeousness a surprise. Here is a sneak peek to leave you as excited as I am!

    Claire Anna at Three Months

    A
re you sick of pictures of Claire yet? Because, I am stickin to this once a month "photo shoot" with her for the first year no matter what! In fact, I had wanted to do her portraits this past weekend, but it was so dark outside (and thus dark in our house)... and she was kinda cranky, too. The one day it was nice here, she was at someone else's house all day so that I could get work done. So, today HAD to be the day since we leave tomorrow for a week. I went up into our attic to get a chair for her, some blankets, the light stand and a flash. I don't love working with a flash, especially with babies, but it had to be done to document her 3 months. Alright, she's awake from her nap, so... sorry no commentary, but Happy viewing! (oh, and a few of these aren't the best composition, but i had to put them since they make me laugh!)

this first one was actually one of the few we got this weekend.

    PUBLISHED

    Published!- Adirondack Life Magazine

    S
o... my work got published again! Four magazines in four months is not bad, but unfortunately, it may be a while before I get another one since I have not had time to submit any images to anyone since the birth of my baby. But, that is then and this is now! Hooray! The current issue (May/June) of Adirondack Life is featuring weddings in the Adirondacks. They called me a few months ago and asked if I would be willing to contribute, and of course, I was happy to do so! You can go to their site to order a copy if you are interested. It is a great magazine for Adirondack history and culture.

Three of our four images used are on this first page (the bottom left pic is by Neil Cowley). The other image not shown is a detail shot of Meagan & Chase's maple syrup favors.

In other news, we just added one thing to our list of print options... a 4x6 proof print. We typically only offer these if the entire gallery is purchased, but I know with the economy the way it is, some people just want a small print at an affordable price. So, we now have that. This is what-you-see-is-what-you-get. There is absolutely no retouching, no toning, no sharpening... basically no magic done to the image above what you see on the gallery. It is intended to be a proof to go into your slip in album, NOT intended for framing or display since it is not a finished product. It will have a border around the image, but it won't be watermarked. Anyway, just thought you all might want to know!

    Little Joey - Baby Portraits

    R
emember a few weeks ago when I had that drawing for a free session? Well, here are the first winners! Jennie & Joe and their lil Joey in Jenkintown, PA (fortunately, we were traveling down that way). We photographed their wedding early last year, and now, I had the pure joy of a task to capture their little man. What a cutie! And what a sweet family. Jennie has one of the best smiles and laughs that I have ever heard, so it is no surprise to me that her son would also have a really great smile and was generally just so fun to photograph. I am so happy for you guys and your growing family! I'm looking forward to capturing the next lil one, too. ;-) Happy viewing!

I absolutely love this one! And, not to toot my own horn or anything, but this little guy was in motion when I captured this shot. I'm actually kinda shocked that it is so sharp in the right spot. ;-) I love swings, so I (admittedly) try a million shots when I get someone on one just to make sure I get one. This is my favorite swing shot of all time. He's hiding his smile, but you can tell that it is there!

Okay, maybe he's a little young for the slide, but daddy and mommy helped. And, I think he liked it!

OKay, get ready for some sweet drool (though kinda subtle) in the next two shots. How cute is he?!!

I really love this one of him trying to climb up the railing on the wobbly bridge!

He loves his mommy! Such a sweetie!

Fun family shot. I can hardly stand the cuteness of this one.

And.... he loves his daddy, too. So happy together! Check out those cute lil teeth.

I had to put this up. Not just because I think the composition is cool, but because of how clear you can see his eye. Gorgeous! Jennie gave me hope that Claire might have eyes like his since she currently has almost navy blue eyes, and apparently, Joey had eyes that color when he was younger. My fingers are crossed. They are perfect!

    Another sweet one with daddy.

Joey in the blooming tree. What a sweetie. Love this one!

Well, I hope you enjoyed these! Claire turned three months just three days ago, so we are working on her three month portraits (she did not have a happy weekend). So, I will try to post those before I head down to the Carolinas with her on Thursday.

    Grace Emma - Newborn Portraits

    W
elcome to the world, Grace! Our good friends Aileen and Zach welcomed their daughter into the world a few weeks ago, and Chris and I were super excited to go down to PA to meet her. We still vividly remember Zach calling Chris to tell him the news of Aileen's pregnancy. We had just told them I was pregnant a few weeks prior, so Zach called up... asked how far along I was (about 13 weeks), and Zach's response was "so, i guess that Aileen is about 8 weeks behind her then." We both got giddy at the thought of us going through this season of life together. And, of course, once we found out that we were both having girls, we got even more excited. Well, Grace was just as gorgeous in person as we knew she would be! :-) Fortunately, our friends were willing to let me take some pics for them... just kidding, no arm twisting there. But, really, I was thrilled that they were up for it while we were in town. My only wish is that we'd gotten to her quicker. I heard somewhere that if you want to do newborn portraits with them all sleepy and curled up, then you have to do it within 2 weeks of birth. Well, we were only a few days off of that, so I was certain we would still be good. Not so. Grace is progressing very nicely; she was pretty much awake the entire session and would NOT curl her legs up under herself no matter how much candy I bribed her with! ha! Anyway, congrats to our friends! You have a beautiful family, and we can't wait to watch Claire and Grace grow up together. Happy viewing!

Zach was not going to be around during the time we set for the shoot, so I grabbed a few of the three of them when they dropped by on Easter.

Of course, Grace was sleepy the day we didn't do her full shoot. I love baby yawns. too cute!

Chris and I LOVE this image. Grace loves tummy time about as much as Claire does.

    Ahh, so much better!

    Seriously cute.

Toe touch! Aileen told us that Grace already has a stupid human trick... grasping things with her toes! She's so talented.

I love all baby features... eyelashes, nose, and little lips!

in the crib all swaddled up.

Another favorite of mine. How precious is Grace!

Best friends already! We're already teaching them that they not only have to be friends but they have to learn how to hold hands because, let's face it, that is the cutest thing ever.
