    something in the air?

    M
ust be allergies or the flu... I have been under-the-weather the past few days (took my first sick day in almost a year on Wednesday), and since I have TWO engagement sessions this weekend (this afternoon and tomorrow), I think it is best that I take the rest of today off. Besides, I believe Photoshop caught the flu because it is not working either! ;-) Keep your eyes peeled though; I should have some previews up on Sunday or Monday from these engagement shoots.

    Meghan’s St. Patrick’s Bridal Shower

Though it took a few days to get to these images, it is not a reflection on how much fun I had at Meghan's surprise bridal shower on Saturday at the Interlaken Inn. Her matron-of-honor did a wonderful job with every little detail... And the food was delicious! It was such a joy and honor to document and be a part of such a special time. It was a bummer that I had to leave early, but I am still excited about a lot of these shots. These ladies were so fun that it was hard to get bad pictures... I just can't wait for the wedding!

Shelly & Andrew’s Engagement- Lake Placid

Shelly & Andrew won a $400 gift certificate to Rae Barnes Photography at the Lake Placid Bridal Show this past January, and since they had already hired their photographer for their May 12 wedding, they used it towards an engagement shoot with proof prints (139 selected images- out of the 800+ that I captured). I was so glad that it snowed because it made for some unique images; Shelly & Andrew, however, were asked to climb in all sorts of snow... they were great sports about it. And, I really had fun exploring Lake Placid's Main Street with them!

    Snowy Saranac Lake

I guess winter is still here. We thought that we may have missed it while we were travelling. Nope. Between the past two days we've gotten about a foot of fresh snow. Since this is our second winter in Saranac Lake and Rae has never (yes you read that correctly) shoveled snow, I decided to let her have a turn.

EDIT: I did forget to mention that Rae did cook an amazing St. Patrick's day dinner last night complete with ham, mashed potatoes, vegetable soup, and irish soda bread. Plus we also had some real irish beer, Smithwicks and of course a little Bailey's for dessert.
