T his is going to be short and sweet. Happy Halloween everyone! Enjoy a little peek at our precious lil ladybug. Happy viewing!
Saranac Lake is such a great small town... all of the local businesses and stores on Main Street offer trick or treating for the kids. So, we went! |

and then I did a little photo shoot with her today in our guest bedroom that is about to be my office (third room in the house to do so!).

Hope everyone has a safe and happy halloween!

O h, friends, it is so good to be home. We drive through the night when we have to drive long distance with Claire because it really is the only option. So, we arrived in Saranac Lake at about 2am on Wednesday night/Thursday morning (depending on who you ask, i guess). We are still recovering from that and the epic flights and generally just being away from home for so long. When we carried Claire into her room in the middle of the night, her face was just overcome with looks of recognition and joy (in her sleepy state, of course). I felt that with her. Thank God we are home!! I say all of this, and I want you all to know that we love to travel. It is different with a baby, though. And, we LOVE visiting California (I need gray skies and wet days to appreciate the sun). We really loved introducing our baby girl to lots of new things and (more importantly) her family! Claire met two of her great-grandparents, a few great aunts and uncles and some cousins. I thought for sure that she would be totally bored with a day alone with me, but she was quite happy today. Anyway, enough said... I just want to share some highlights from the trip to California. Happy viewing, friends!
SAND! Claire loves it. |

(Claire is not yawning- she loves to make the "ahhh" sound while we pat her mouth, haha!)

is it vain to love this image? because i do.

love a lot of this series (our fave of us was in this same spot)

sweet baby girl... I played with some textures in this...

... and then... the beach! Claire has now seen the Pacific Ocean before the Atlantic (weird, I know).

the boys... Uncle Tim, dad, and Pop Pop.

of course, the vaca wasn't all fun and games... i was in bed sick one day, and Claire was in bed sick another... this was from her sick day. love her!

Maureen & Chandler's Wedding! |

W e're finally home! It feels like we've spent half of a lifetime away from home (2 weeks is a long time!). But, home sweet home! Before we flew out to California to introduce our little baby girl to her great-grandparents, Chris and I photographed Maureen & Chandler's wedding right outside Philadelphia, PA at the RiverCrest Golf Club. It was a nasty rainy day (about half of all of our weddings this year were), but we had a great time nonetheless. Maureen & Chandler and their friends and family have been unbelievably patient with this preview, so I am making it extra long and posting a few extras on Facebook, too. Congrats to the newlyweds, and happy viewing to all of you!
Chris took this shot of the studly groom. :-) |

... while I grabbed a few of the STUNNING bride!

Maureen was a little nervous about how dark their church was, and to be honest, I was a little iffy too when I got there, especially when the minister told me that we had to stay in one spot in the back during the entire ceremony... BUT THEN... he showed me one little spot I could hide during the ceremony. I had to go thru the basement to get here, and I was lurking in a doorway so that no one could see me, BUT... it was PERFECT! I love this shot, a lot.

... and there is something about this next image that gives me the chills.

In true rainy-wedding-day fashion, we lost light outside very quickly. these next few shots are rather miraculous, if I do say so myself. I love this one of the wedding party!

Maureen & Chandler were standing under a covered patio, so it was pitch black where they stood... I couldn't really even see them. But, this shot is why I pay the big bucks for GREAT equipment. How sweet are they?!

I really love how my flash caught some of the rain drops!

more kissy shots... no flash... no light... miracle shot. But, I love it.

a little bling shot. They used bowls of green apples on alternate tables in the dining room... i almost ate this one after I took the shot. ;-)

First dance loveliness. I love the excitement in this one.

I had a hard time narrowing down which dancing image to put up... Chandler has some moves. But, this one in particular cracked me up. I like to think he is pretending to take her picture, funny thing about that is that there are lots of people taking her picture (as you can see a few flashes going off and cameras in hands).

again... a sweet one of the beautiful newlyweds.

Congrats again! And thanks for waiting 12 days for this preview!! :-)

Claire Anna at Nine Months |

Y esterday, Claire turned 9 months old... she officially has spent more time in the world than in the belly. :-) I just L-O-V-E the stage she's in right now. She is so fun to play with! She's trying so hard to tell us all about her life, trying so hard to crawl (more like an army crawl now), trying so hard to walk (mostly holding onto the coffee table or our hands), and trying to figure this crazy place out. She waves at everyone. I think she's figured out it makes people happy to see her smile, so she does it... all. the. time. :-) I had heard, in terms of photographing babies that the golden age for them is between 6-9 months... after they have accomplished sitting up well, but before they get too mobile. Oh gosh, this is so true! I have so enjoyed photographing her these past few months! Of course, this month's shoot was done on the fly... the two days we had planned to do it, it was NASTY outside (raining then snowing)... so right before I went out for Braxton's shoot last week, I grabbed a few quick pics of Claire in our backyard with our pumpkins. Thank God I thought to grab a few since we may not have a chance to do any more pics until we get to California on our vaca this week! Anyway... we are having a great time. Happy viewing, friends!
cutie! |

I left this mostly untouched... note the black eye under her left eye. :-)

Thanks, daddy, for the smiles!

love the teeth. she now has 5! I am sure the 6th will shortly follow, but the 3rd and 4th made her look a bit like a vampire with fangs. ;-)

"hey! i have a leaf!" this is her talking-to-you face!

LOVE this one so very much! first, i love her sweet hands. second, i love her shoe tights. :-)

whenever she wears a skirt, she picks it up to investigate it.

sweet baby girl. we love you!

Vote for Claire for the next Baby Gap model. You do have to register, but you can vote daily! :-)

Y esterday, I met up with Braxton and his mom in downtown Saranac Lake. We had originally set up to meet at the train station, BUT... as you blog friends know, I have done quite a bit there recently, so I thought I would switch it up. It is funny because I always see these little spots around town and think "oh, I should photograph someone there!" But, then I never do because we would literally be walking all over town to get a full shoot in. Well, Braxton and his mom were up for it; I think the cold air helped motivate since walking kept us warm-ish. So, we walked all over downtown and behind the scenes of downtown to get a full variety, and I am so excited to share these with all of you! I hope I don't embarrass Braxton by saying this, but he may be the easiest guy I have ever photographed. Of course, I love photographing all of my clients, and I sincerely have fun with all of the people I have photographed over the years. But, out of the hundreds of guys I have photographed, he definitely was one of the most comfortable and natural ones ever. I am sure you will be able to tell. :-) Happy viewing, friends!
love this first one (my husband is a little jealous of his outfit, i think)- too bad my logo crops just a smidge enough to not show the shoes... |

you know, it is funny, but we didn't talk about what colors he was going to wear before he showed up... and of course, the two outfits were PERFECT for all of the spots I had in mind. How perfect is this tree?!

a little outfit change... Saranac Lake's finest parking lots. :-)

so, there is this blue building... that is BRIGHT blue, but I love it... and for years, I have wanted to get someone in front of it. But, I never realized the railing is made for little people. Literally, the railing came up to mid-thigh for Braxton. Not sure how I missed that. Anyway... all this to say, still loved the spot, and it worked perfect!

L-O-V-E this one! Of course, I had to get some smiles for mom and grandma!

this reddish wall was also a great color for Braxton. of course, I was dodging cars to be across the street, but it was worth it.

a few more smiles for grandma. his mom was such a trooper... i didn't quite see her, but out of the corner of my eye it looked like she was dancing around to get him to laugh. ha!

just a little smirk... on a fire escape.

these last two, I couldn't decide between... I figured mom would appreciate the smile...

and all of the high school ladies may appreciate this last one... :-)

Thanks so much, Braxton! I had a great time with you both!
